So one of the things that has been keeping me most awfully busy recently is the Andover Life project.
In short it is a photo exhibit telling the stories of 7 people who live on the Andover Estate, it's display co-incides with the Soul in the City project run by my church St Marks, Tollington Park.
Now for a bit more detail. Soul in the City is an amazing initiative where our church gets involved in the running of the local estate during the June half term week. You may remember last year's Soul in the City.
Well now it is time for Soul in the City 3. There is gardening, football, arts and crafts, children's clubs, youth groups etc etc etc for the week. There is a lot going on.
Andover Life Photography Exhibition was an idea I have wanted to do for a long long time but never really got the guts, time, courage (etc) to do it. Until this year. A friend of mine, Tim said he wanted to do something like this and would I help. After some ummming and ahhhing I decided this was a good idea and really haven't looked back for the past month.
We have somehow managed to find, meet, photograph and interview 7 very different people who live on the estate and it has been an absolute pleasure really. Our intention is as stated on the flyer above, to provide a snapshot of life on the estate and looking at our work I believe we have achieved that.
We hope to see lots of people get involved with Soul in the City this week and also hope lots of people see and enjoy our photo exhibition. Will write more about it and possibly post some photos next week!
