Reasons to love London: Boulangerie Bon Matin
Now you have to understand, I am the kind of the girl who would be heavily influence by colour when buying a car, so on that basis, a cafe / bakery like Bon Matin is right up my street.
The first thing thats good about Bon Matin is that it is in Stroud Green and that you don't have to climb all the way up the hill to Crouch End to get to it. Next is the decor. The tiles on the floor are amazing. I think I could go in and sit for an hour and just gaze at the beautiful floor. Bon Matin is clean and minimalist in style, it doesn't have lots of bits that make you wonder just how much dust and dirt are hiding in the crevices waiting for the opportune time to jump into your food.
The staff have always been friendly enough when I have been although in a more polite than outgoing way. I am not a regular of Bon Matin, I have had a Ratatouille and savoury crepes there in the past which I enjoy. More recently it has just been drinks and I must say, I thought the Hot Chocolate was a disappointment, very sweet and icky. I would be interested to know what they use for the HC and whether I just have become too used to my favourite (Cadburys) that I'll never enjoy any other brand ever again.
So whilst I am not overawed by their food I think thats just my opinion. I would definitely return, I am glad its there and I would recommend.
