Jude on her photo
Hebrews 11 v 1
Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance in what we do not see.
I'm learning a lot about faith from Elsa my 3 year old daughter. I promise this photo wasn't staged, she stopped dancing in the aisle at church this morning, sat down with Rabbit & clasped her hands together as everyone prayed.
Yes I know I probably shouldn't have whipped my phone out to get the shot but it had to be done!
Elsa told me tonight that God is in our hearts, her faith is simple and straightforward and a pleasure to see growing.
Evie's Thoughts:
This is my last week of organising the diptych guest slots (Ann will be doing the next two weeks).
I have enjoyed and loved seeing everyone's interpretations of their various subjects but I hope you will understand why I say this one was my favourite.
I'm not sure either Jude or Eron were impressed with me giving them such an obscure subject as 'faith' but I'm so glad I did because their photographs and descriptions have been wonderful to see!
What a wonderful moment Jude caught in the life of her daughter - which to me is what photography is about. I love photos which are spontaneous and can't not be replicated easily. The compostition of taking the photo from near Elsa's level was really nice, Elsa still looks small and vulnerable but also big enough to look in control of the picture and the world around her, and so sure of her faith.
There is so much more I'd like to write right now, but I shall contain myself to make it more about the photos and their descriptions, might need to blog about this myself!
How would you interpret faith in a photograph? Please go on over to The Diptych Project on Facebook and share it with us.
