It takes a village to raise a child they say, I think it takes a community to support a marriage as well.
Approaching our wedding we wanted to be as prepared as we could possibly be and so we decided to do the Marriage Preparation Course at St Pauls, Onslow Square (couldn't find it closer to home).
We were a little nervous on our first day, Andrew had been on production for previous courses but I had no idea what to expect. I didn't expect there to be so many people (I think about 100 couples?) As you are welcomed in, you are introduced to your support couple and group. You sit with your group for the meal and you can chat to others if you like, or just chat to your spouse. Then there is a talk with interactive excercises through out the evening.
It has introduced topics to us we would not have thought to discuss and was just such a lovely time to hang out together and prepare for marriage rather than the wedding!
Last night was our last and I must say I am rather going to miss it, I think we shall be keeping our books and referring back to stuff we have learnt and notes we took! I'd so highly recommend doing the marriage prep course if you are planning a wedding, and also the marriage course itself - for if that is anything like as good as the prep, it will be one of the best evenings of your week!
Do the Marriage Course and win yourself a photo shoot!
HTB are hosting a party for us to introduce our friends to the Marriage Course and the Marriage Preparation Course.
If you would like to go, we would love to take you - email me at evie (dot) winter (at) gmail (dot) com.
And if you then go on to do and complete The Marriage Course, I'll do you a free photo shoot for you in London as a couple or family (tho might limit to the first three couples who let me know in case there is a sudden influx!).
