Have I blogged about this place before? I can't believe I haven't, but if I did - it is definitely worth two posts!
The Front Room is kind of like Central Perk in Friends to me. It is one of a few independent cafes in the Stroud Green area and can be found on Tollington Park, near its junction with Stroud Green Rd.
What makes it special are the week day staff who are so wonderfully friendly, stopping to chat if they have a minute - this is my no.1 criteria in any cafe.
Whilst the weekend staff are not quite as friendly as the week day staff, the latter are a hard act to follow! Another thing that sets it apart is the wonderful vintage surroundings and book shelves full of the most wonderful items.
I've so many happy memories here, I've shared many coffees with friends, a few lunches, the odd coffee on my own - taking advantage of the free wifi and lately Andrew and I have been coming here on occasional on Saturday morning, and the first thing I ask for is fresh orange juice. Yum!
They serve an extensive selection of breakfasts, my favorite being the New Yorker (pancakes, bacon, maple syrup) and other dishes as well.
So this morning, we had one final breakfast as an engaged couple. Moving day is imminent and we will need to look for new charming local cafes. I'm going to miss The Front Room being so local but I'm pretty sure I'll be back occasionally as I meet friends.
Be sure to check out The Front Room if you're in the area.
