My next wedding to photograph is the lovely Chris and Elinora, so on Sunday we went to have a look at the venue and take some pre wedding photos. Absolutly tonnes of fun, with lots of laughter. They even practiced their first dance with an audience of two old men who photographed us as I photographed them and also sweet old couple who walked past and who I caught in one of the photos, old and young.

You may remember my recent maternity shoot with my friend Ellie, well this is introducing baby M. He is much like his Daddy at this stage and quite huge, weighing 8lbs and alot taller than your average baby, so no rolling him up but hopefully we got a few photos to his make mummy and daddy proud. M's mood was a little fractious at first but he fell in love with the sheepskin, even trying to eat it.Thanks Ellie and Drew, enjoy!

Recently I had the pleasure of shooting my friends for their engagement and finally here are the photos! I am looking forward to co-shooting their wedding in August!
A little late, but this was from her bday bbq last weekend.
Naomi is a absolutly wonderful friend who also likes scrapbooking and taking photos. She is soon to swap her sleepless nights studying for sleepless nights up with a baby. I am very much looking forward to doing Naomi's maternity and the of course the baby itself!
Thanks to Ellie and Drew for the opportunity to take these photos and Ellie especially for being so patient with me and a wondeful model. Ellie is about to give birth any day now and just looks amazing, Thanks Ellie and Drew.

With my time as a basildon nanny coming to an end I have been taking tons of photos, to add a little variety - I have even taken some in black and white in camera.
Previously I have avoided this, because I think if I take them in colour, I have more choice at the computer stage - but since rarely I convert afterwards I thought I should just go for it...
Advantages of shooting black and white in-camera
- Training your eye: Over time it will give you a better idea of what scenes would look good in black and white instantly.
- Filters: Many cameras allow a filter option, in the good old days you physically added a filter to the camera, now you can change the settings.
Disadvantages of shooting black and white in-camera
- You cannot change you mind afterwards as you could with colour (I have heard this can be overrided by shooting in RAW which I have yet to test).
2 For and 1 Against
The disadvantage is so significant to me I think I shall on occasion try black and white on my low risk images (photos I have loads off and want a different perspective) just in order to train my eye better. On the whole I think as a jpg user I shall stick with coversion in camera.
Last Sunday I had the opportunity to take some photos of some friends of mine, so after lunch - praying the clouds would not bring we went on down to Alexandra Palace - which as I have mentioned before is such a great place to shoot photos.
Kath and Marcus were absolutly great and very patient - thanks! so I got to shoot to my hearts content. Now looking back on the photos I think ah I wish I had noticed that, or I wish I had got them to do this pose... Such is the way we learn - practice is a wonderful thing! If you look on the couple's photo album on the side you'll see some more photos from this shoot...
Well at my beginning anyway (without being to theological about it) was this lovely couple, who are my most faithful blog readers and so wonderfully encouraging of all I do! So I thought this photo would make a nice start to my blog...
